Job Summary

Welder, Combination, Maintenance


This incumbent welds metal components together to


fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, mobile homes, motors and generators,


according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. This worker welds metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes, performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. This worker may locate and repair cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads, using inspection equipment and gas torch, may perform repairs only and be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional and technical associations. May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.

  • Three (3) years required.

  • Thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft maintenance is mandatory.

  • Must have knowledge of the scope and limitations of various categories of maintenance and their application to the contract unit. Must be able to operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and communicative skills.

  • May be required to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications


Five (5) years of actual and recent aircraft experience desired.




Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
